I just came back from a 5 day trip to Tofino, BC, a well known surf/beach town on Vancouver Island. This is a quiet, very small town where tourists come for the beaches, surfing, whale and bear watching, and the local hot springs. You get there by Ferry to Nanaimo (2hrs), followed by a scenic but windy 3hr drive to Tofino.
When you work all the time around computers and websites, its sometimes nice to "get away from it all" and enjoy some of what nature has to offer. Actually, who was I kidding, with a Macbook and my Nexus One on hand I was spending 2+hrs a day on Neoseeker a

We didn't do a lot of the tours, but got a chance to try our hand at catching some crabs, kayaking, a visit to Meare Island for a tour of the rainforest boardwalk, and just relax. We cooked some of our own meals, but also tried out Shelter, SOBO, and Big Daddy's Fish Fry, three places that are worth checking out. On our last day we visited TacoFino, a quaint catering van parked behind Live to Surf, for some of their famous Fish Tacos (they were small, but good).
We were lucky and had 4 days of absolutely pristine blue sky, I've uploaded a selection of pictures to my flickr account. Click the below screenshots or see all of the pics from this Tofino set (you can also see the album on Fluidr which has larger thumbnails).

Actually this is the first time I've started to use my Flickr account since I made it 3 years ago. I'll try to keep it populated with a few things here and there.
